life
Yasmeen Ghauri was born in Montreal, Quebec to a Pakistani father, Moin Ghauri, and a German mother, Linda Ghauri. Early on in her life, Ghauri had a difficult childhood often being teased by her classmates at school for being too thin and for her ethnicity. During those difficult days she began to shun people and found refuge in Islam. Ghauri was reportedly working at a McDonalds restaurant at the age of 17 when she was discovered by Montreal hairdresser and salon artistic director of Platine Coiffure Edward Zaccharia. At the restaurant, she often turned up dressed in black from head to toe and people described her as having a rebellious nature. Despite this, she was named Employee of the Month. Soon after her discovery, there was a shift in mentality within the fashion industry, moving from predominantly all-American models to more "ethnic" models, a trend which Ghauri fit.
Her father disapproved of her new-found interest and career as a model. Nonetheless, she pursued a modeling career first spending time in Milan and Paris before moving to New York in 1990. Here she was noticed by the "fashion police", critics and labels alike. She was praised for her poise and an exaggerated walk on the runway.[citation needed] The New York Times quoted her walk as a "ball-bearing swivel of her hips." Her appearance on the catwalks prompted part of what is now termed in fashion the "Canadian invasion."
Career and achievements
Ghauri enjoyed fame in the early 1990s after landing her first major cover with Elle Magazine in January 1990.[citation needed] Soon after, she became the face of both Chanel and Jil Sander. By the end of 1990, she had appeared on the cover of French Elle in July and December. In September, she graced the catwalk for Gianni Versace's show in Milan and by the next month she was walking for Chanel, Helmut Lang, Jean Paul Gaultier and Lanvin in Paris. She became the face of Christian Dior and Anne Klein in 1991. In January, she was photographed by Steven Meisel for the cover of Italian Vogue and toward the end of the year, she appeared in British and Italian Vogue editorials. Photographer Patrick Demarchelier, who photographed her for the Italian issue, called her his favourite subject.
In 1992, she landed a contract with Victoria’s Secret and became a face of Valentino couture and Versace. Later,[when?] she walked the controversial Gianni Versace "Bondage" show in Milan. Ghauri became the face of Hermès and Lanvin in 1993 and was photographed by Gilles Bensimon for Elle.
She appeared in the 1995 documentary Unzipped by Isaac Mizrahi. She walked the 1996 annual Victoria's Secret Fashion Show,.

megan fox can Her Career Survive After
Actress Megan Fox is one of Hollywood's hottest female celebrities appearing on every major magazine cover and dominating the red carpet around the globe. In 2007, her role as Mikaela Banes in the blockbuster film Transformers opposite Shia LaBeouf became her breakout performance and ticket to fame. Fox reprises her role in 2009 for the sequel Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. However, with a diva reputation and the news that she was fired from the third installment of Transformers movie franchise that made her a star, is Megan Fox's career in Hollywood going down the drain?
Fox has said in reports that she chose to leave the blockbuster movie on her own accord despite several speculations that she had had enough of director Michael Bay's "verbal abuse" and wanted out. Fox has referred to her former boss as "Hitler" and he reportedly said she needs to "grow up." Hollywood producer Nathan Folks stated that "It is never a good idea to speak negatively about a director you work with - it's a small community. Actors sometimes think they can get away with anything, the egos some possess are out of control. When they stop getting work, they will learn". On the other hand, if Michael Bay's alleged on-set "verbal abuse" is in any way true, Fox should be given credit for her speaking out.

Given that her other movie attempts have been box office flops like "Jennifer's Body" that only debuted at a dismal number five earning just $6.8 million and that she has been slammed by movie crews, will other big name directors be willing to take a gamble and hire the 25-year-old star? Fox might have a hard time pulling on the strings to win the public especially with her
Fox is reported to be joining Paul Rudd, Leslie Mann and director Judd Apatow in bringing back the hit romantic-comedy film "Knocked Up" where Apatow and Universal want to continue that story with Rudd and Mann as a couple and slipping Fox in the story somewhere. Now the details of her character is being kept under wraps but according to some sources, Fox will play an ex girlfriend of Rudd. This project is in development and is set to begin production around fall in 2012.
Megan Fox has got to get her act together because it will be difficult for her to get roles in movies if she has been seen as trouble and problematic with her behavior. However, if she makes the right decisions, there is no doubt that her career in Hollywood can survive.
